Welcome! To the ‘Wow no cow’ song recorder teaching tour of
Dublin website, featuring Mr. Hines and some recorders and some
people and Dublin and some guy called Billy!
You’ve probably got lots of questions like who is Mr. Hines? What’s the ‘Wow no cow’ song? What’s a recorder? Where is Dublin? What’s a website? Who is Billy? And, ‘I just followed a link from some sort social media and now all I’m doing is reading this and wondering if I’ll ever get this time back in my life?’. KEEP READING PLEASE.
The ‘Wow no cow’ song was written by Oatly CEO, Toni Petersson. He wasn’t a singer or a songwriter before he wrote the acclaimed-by-no-one ‘Wow no cow’ song but now he is. One day Toni wandered into a field of oats with a keyboard and the song was born. Why ‘Wow no cow’? Because Oatly is made with oats and is just like milk, but made for humans. Anyway, Dublin…yes, Dublin! When we decided to launch Oatly in Ireland we thought the best way to do this was to get a retired music teacher from Wendell Massachusetts in USA and ask him to teach the people of Dublin how to play ‘Wow no cow’ on the recorder. Did you know Mr. Hines used to live in Turkey? No, you should ask him if you meet him. He is also knowledgeable about trees too. Particularly ash trees.
So, we took Mr. Hines to Dublin and let him loose on the streets to see if he could spread the word of ‘Wow no cow’. We think he did a great job and up to now we think at least another 3 and half people know how to play the song! Well done Mr. Hines. Thank you.
