Ever heard of a smoothie? Of course you have, that was just an attempt at a smart intro line so that you would continue to read on and now you are here so here is an amazing way to create smoothies — base them on Oatgurt. That way you get fiber for your heart*, and good carbs to keep your energy levels up. Want a suggestion for a great smoothie? Natural Oatgurt, pear juice, spinach, wheatgrass, avocado, ginger, mint and pineapple. It’s called a Green Lightning and our friends at Salads and Smoothies created it for us. If you don’t happen to have all those ingredients at home try freestyling with oatgurt, some frozen berries, a banana and some orange mango drink.
So smoothie maker, how about making sure that your smoothie has betaglucans* in it? Protein, good sustainable carbs, calcium, Vitamin D, Riboflavin and B12. Hmmm, what else. Have a look above and you can see what’s inside and if you have any questions call us and ask or perhaps you would prefer to social media us.
What might be less amazing
Technically this is not a yogurt so you shouldn’t spend too much time trying to wish that it was. If you want a yogurt the entire chilled section at the supermarket is filled with them and in basically every variation you could imagine. We make our oatgurt on a fermented oat base that will remind you of yoghurt but it doesn’t contain the work of animals which puts it in a league all by itself.
* Betaglucans are good for the heart. As a part of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, they contribute to maintaining normal cholesterol levels in your blood. One 250 ml glass of Oatly provides a third (1 g) of the daily requirement of betaglucan.
Fermented oat base (water, oats 12%, fermentation culture), potato starch, rapeseed oil, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphates, natural vanilla flavour, vitamins (D2, riboflavin and B12).
