If you’ve lived under a rock your whole life up until five seconds ago when you clicked on this page, we’d like to inform you that this ice cream does not contain any dairy. It is made of oats. What? An ice cream without dairy? But can it even be called ice cream? Yes, you under-a-rock-person, we could have called it skwidfoppel5wmdd, but what’s the point when it tastes like ice cream, looks like ice cream and acts like ice cream when you scoop it into a bowl or put it on a cone? Of course, you probably don’t know the answer to that question if you’ve spent your life under a rock, so we’ll just get to the point. We recommend trying our chocolate ice cream immediately because you might be surprised how perfect the name of this product really is. In the same way that everything will probably be surprising to you, because of your strange living situation up until you clicked on this page.
Three quick points:
• The cocoa is certified by the Cocoa Horizon Foundation. Which means it is 100% sustainably sourced and creates thriving cocoa farming communities.
• New packaging with 79% less climate impact compared to the previous one!
• Vegan! (Yes, it’s a given. But three points are so much more satisfactory than two.)
Last but not least
Plant-based ice cream is just as good as ordinary ice cream. And by "just as" we mean "equally" or "more". Who, by the way, wants to be "ordinary" when you can be non-ordinary ice cream? And by "who" we mean if we were the ice cream ourselves and not just the producers of it. There, now it all makes sense.

You sound like the person our digital media specialist was referring to as the “target demographic” for this site: fckoatly.com/
How do you calculate the climate footprint of this product?
We gather data on greenhouse gas emissions from grower to grocer and put it through a platform called CarbonCloud that uses 20 years of research in the food-system field to crunch the numbers and get the final carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) number. When the counting and analyzing are done, an impartial verifier professional double-checks the calculations. Basically, our numbers are scrutinized by people who really know what they’re doing. What might be less amazing
If you have read about our other ice creams here on this website, you already know that we use fully-hydrogenated fat and why. So we probably don’t need to repeat it again, but might as well.
When it comes to ice cream firmness—an important thing to consider if you want your ice cream to be amazing—the nice unsaturated fats in oats don’t work as well as the saturated fats found in milk. But we have solved this problem by adding plant-based, fully-hydrogenated fats in the form of rapeseed and coconut. We transform these fully-hydrogenated vegetable fats into saturated fats. And now we have written the word fat five times. If you read the list of ingredients over on the right, you’ll see that we use a little stabilizer, which also helps achieve the firmness of our ice cream.
Where are the ingredients?
Since our ingredients often differs slightly between markets they are not available on the global site.
How do we make our oat drinks?
Our oat base is just oats and water. But it’s what we do with those oats and that water that makes Oatly so special.
