Introducing Barista Workwear with Kids of Immigrants

We’re madly in love with the coffee community and the brilliant people who keep it humming. So when someone at Oatly brought up the idea of developing a workwear line for baristas (and tbh, anyone else who appreciates good style), we ran with it.

That metaphorical “running” led us straight into the metaphorical arms of Kids of Immigrants, an LA-based fashion brand all about connecting and celebrating local communities. They also make sick clothes.

Person sitting at a table near a window, partially obscured by large green leaves. They wear a white shirt with a blue design on the back.
Person with a beige messenger bag embroidered with "Kids of Immigrants & Oatly," wearing a light-colored jacket.
A person wearing a cap peeks through a shelf filled with glasses and mugs in a kitchen.
A person with curly hair turns away, wearing a beige jacket featuring stacked cups and the text "POUR INTO OTHERS" on the back.
Person pouring coffee from a metal pitcher into a white paper cup while wearing a dark shirt and jeans with a gray apron.
Wooden chair with beige jacket and cap draped over it, and a tan messenger bag on the floor, against a white wall on a patterned blue rug.

We started by interviewing dozens of baristas and roasters from around the world. We asked intrusive, probing questions like, “Thoughts on a chore jacket and messenger bag?” And we got incredibly specific answers, like, “Make sure the bag can fit a 5lb bag of beans.”

The resulting capsule collection—a chore jacket, snapback hat, crossbody messenger bag, and towel—is styled by baristas from LA and New York’s favorite cafés. Check out the full collection at KidsOfImmigrants.us. More to come.
