In medieval times, cardamom was thought to help protect against the cold. Today, when the weather turns cold, people go to Thailand. This drink caters to both times.​

0,8 fl ozpear & cardamom syrup
  • 5 fl oz pear juice
  • 3,2 oz sugar
  • 0,35 oz toasted cardamom pods
1,4 fl ozpear juice
1,4 fl ozthai tea concentrate

Thai tea concentrate

17 fl ozhot water

  • Saucepan and stovetop
  • Sieve
  • Spoon
  • Kettle
  • Strainer
  • Something to store the tea concentrate in

To-Do List

For the Thai tea concentrate:

  1. Brew the tea in hot water for 8 min
  2. Strain out the leaves
  3. Dilute with ice​
  4. Store in the fridge until ready to use​

For the drink:

  1. To make the syrup, toast cardamom pods and then lightly crush​
  2. Add crushed pods to a pan with pear juice and sugar​
  3. Bring to a simmer and cook until reduced by half​
  4. Leave to cool for 1–2 hours to let the cardamom infuse further​
  5. Strain out cardamom pods and store the syrup chilled​
  6. To build the drink, fill a glass with ice​
  7. Add syrup and pear juice​
  8. Stir
  9. Top with Oatly Barista Edition​
  10. Finish with thai tea concentrate​
